Decision Paralysis: Silence, Fear, & Flat Squirrels
Alan Rubin

Oatmeal or eggs? Respond to my boss tonight or wait until tomorrow? Fix the transmission or buy a new car? Hire an admin or continue to do the tasks myself? Partner with our biggest competitor or the new startup? Experts estimate we make more than 35,000 decisions a day. It is no wonder that we have Decision Fatigue, and all the things that emerge from it. We are reminded that silence is compliance and NOT making the decision is a decision. We have more information delivered faster than ever before. Yet, we push the decision up the chain to ensure we don't get "stuck" with the blame, look for more data to confirm what we already know, or are inundated by distractions.
Let's talk about what's behind our Decision Disasters, what drove them, and how they changed our perceptions about the people we trust, the information we use, and the choices we make today.
